New Year Opening Hours

It has always been our intention for Vessel to be a shop that you can drink in, so you can sample the beers before you take away, and so that people can stop for a while and have a chat or maybe something to eat.

We already have our licence to sell alcohol for consumption off the premises, and we used temporary events notices to enable us to do on sales throughout December. However, we now need to go through further stages of licencing and planning to enable on sales permanently.

We have already started the process, and we don’t know how long it will take to complete, so once we re-open in the New Year, you will only be able to drink in the shop two days a week.

We will still be open 6 days a week (we will always be closed on Mondays), and on the days we are only doing off sales, you will still be able to buy bottles, cans and growlers for take-out. However, on those days we will not be able to allow any drinking in (apart from small tasters from the growler machine), including soft drinks, and we will not be serving food.

On the days we are open for on sales, you will be able to take away beer as usual, and drink and eat on the premises.

Our plan is to alternate the drinking in days, so some weeks it will be Friday and Saturday, and some weeks Saturday and Sunday. We will ensure we announce on social media which days we will be open for on sales each week.

We understand that as part of the planning process, our application may be strengthened by positive submissions from the public. Once we know more about this, we will let you know in case you want to add your support.

In the meantime, we would like to thank all the customers who came in during December – it was lovely to meet you all, and we hope to see you again in the New Year.
