De Molen Brewery
24.01.17We are pleased to be stocking a great range of bottles from one of our favourite Dutch breweries. Started in a Windmill in 2004, De Molen (The Mill) have always been at the forefront of producing amazing beers, ranging from lovely hoppy pales to big decadent imperial stouts. Probably the first brewery to really simplify their labelling design to just detail the beer ingredients.
Vuur & Vlam (Fire and Flames), IPA, 6.2% ABV
The brewery’s classic IPA, which uses lots of US hops to produce a bitter citrus beer.
Amarillo, Double IPA, 9.2% ABV
A big imperial IPA showcasing the US hop Amarillo. Resinous, with grapefruit and orange flavours.
Hamer & Sikkel, Porter, 5.2% ABV
A malty porter with hints of coffee and dark chocolate.
Rasputin, Imperial Stout, 10.4% ABV
The name is a nod to the origins of imperial stouts being brewed by British breweries for the Russian Tzars. Expect cocoa, vanilla and liquorice.
Hel & Verdoemenis (Hell and Damnation), Imperial Stout, 10% ABV
Brewed using English malt, this is complex imperial stout. We have a keg of this that will be on our taps in the future.
Hemel & Hel (Heaven and Hell), Imperial Stout, 11.9% ABV
With twice the amount of dark roasted malts used, a massive imperial stout. Chocolate and alcohol are right there at the front but do not overpower the flavours underneath. Expect flavours of leather, vanilla, floral notes from the hops and a bitter finish.
Tsarina Esra, Imperial Porter, 10.1% ABV
Another big dark beer, but as a porter it has less roasted malt flavour of the imperial stouts with a more oaky and dark fruit character.
Mooi & Meedogenloos (Beautiful & Ruthless), Belgian Quad, 10.2% ABV
A big dark Belgian style beer with an imperial stout twist to it. Flavours of chocolate raisons, prunes and caramel.
