Lervig

04.12.16

Norwegian brewery Lervig are one of the many international breweries we are stocking. Based in Stavanger, their American head brewer took over the town lager brewery after some dark days when Carlsberg had bought them out. Mike Murphy started brewing more interesting styles and collaborating with other breweries across the world.

Sour Suzy, Berliner Weisse, 4.0% ABV
A thirst quenching sessions beer, Sour Suzy mimics a classic German brewing technique (sour mashing) to impart a light, refreshing tartness. The recipe includes a healthy portion of wheat, while citrussy hops lend bright notes to the aroma, which is accentuated by the addition of Makrut lime leaves.

Lucky Jack Grapefruit, Pale Ale, 4.7% ABV
A ramped-up version of Lervig’s flagship American pale ale Lucky Jack, with added grapefruit peel and pink grapefruit juice. Slightly more pink, slightly more acidic, a lot more fruity and fresh than the original.

Farmhouse IPA, 6.0% ABV
A collaboration with Magic Rock Brewing from Huddersfield. A hoppy IPA given a funky twist by using wild yeast Brettanomyces which will change the flavour of beer over time.
